About the event
Our theme “Return to Me” (Joel 2:12) calls us back to the heart of our faith as we begin the year with intention and hope. Awake Ballarat is a grace-filled day designed to be both penitential and deeply encouraging.
The gathering will include praise that gently leads into silence, a teaching on the core spiritual disciplines of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, and generous access to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, with priests available throughout the day.
Participants will be guided through an examen, offered practical tools for forming a realistic spiritual plan, and invited into small-group sharing to encourage one another on the journey. During Eucharistic Adoration, we ask the Lord to heal old wounds, renew our hearts, and rekindle our first love.
We will also launch a simple mercy challenge—concrete acts of service for the poor and the lonely in our city—so that renewal flows outward into mission.
